A certificate is only useful if you know what it checks. Here is what each one means when you buy shilajit from us.
A certified quality system means there are written procedures for how products are made, checked and delivered, and records showing they were followed. For you, that means a consistent product and a set process for handling complaints.
ISO 22000 requires the hazards that can make food or supplements unsafe, whether physical, chemical or microbiological, to be identified and controlled. It builds on HACCP, the food-safety method used worldwide.
Good Manufacturing Practice covers the basics that keep a product clean and consistent: hygienic premises, trained staff, cleaned equipment and records for each batch so it can be traced.
A Halal certificate is issued after a Halal certification body checks the ingredients and processing. It gives Muslim buyers assurance that nothing non-Halal is used in making or packing the product.
Common question
Shilajit, also called salajeet or shilajeet, is a natural resin that seeps from rocks in high mountains such as the Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush. It forms from plant matter broken down over a very long time, not from animals, which is why it is widely regarded as Halal.
What can change that is processing. Added flavourings, alcohol-based extracts, or capsule and gummy ingredients from non-Halal sources can all affect the finished product. That is what a Halal certificate checks. Chitral House SMC (Private) Limited is Halal certified, and the full certificate is shown above.

Verify it yourself
Use these checks on our certificates, or on any seller's.
The certificate should be issued to the company selling the product. Ours are issued to Chitral House SMC (Private) Limited.
A genuine certificate shows who issued it and a unique number you can quote when you check it.
ISO certificates are usually valid for three years, with a surveillance audit each year. Check the issue and expiry dates.
For ISO certificates, the body that issued it should itself be accredited, for example by PNAC in Pakistan. Many ISO certificates can also be looked up on the IAF CertSearch database.
Two kinds of proof
They answer different questions, which is why we publish both.
They confirm that the way we source, process and pack shilajit follows recognised standards for quality, food safety, hygiene and Halal. An outside body assesses the business before issuing each one.
An independent laboratory tests a shilajit sample and records what it finds. See our shilajit lab test reports from Eurofins, PCSIR and an accredited US laboratory.
